Too much

A couple of weeks ago, I realized I know too much about this university. Knowing its shortcomings is intensely depressing and also causes me to work harder to improve it with time that I do not have. I think this is true of almost every organization. You get to know it so well that you begin to understand when and why the world passed it by. As college students, we have this powerful desire to find and follow the cutting edge. I certainly fit into that category and am a part of what feels like a giant footrace toward satisfaction in my career and, ultimately, in life.

Between a quest for improving the university, my schoolwork, theater, and new necessities such as cooking and cleaning, I have very little time for recreation. If I am doing something "just for fun," I soon start to feel panicked about looming deadlines. So, even though I am only taking four real classes this semester, I am burning myself out. I need to find some kind of balance soon.

Lately, I have had balance in the back of my mind when facing all decisions. There is always some kind of goal that resides there and my emotions this semester have dictated that it be balance. Can my problem be solved by a simple supplement of one side of the work hard, play hard ratio or do I need to further restructure my commitments?

Blogs are sort of like reality TV. If my blog were a reality TV show, it would be so boring and over-thought that people would riot (at least the French would). Maybe that is my answer.

A blind plunge into the blogosphere

Check back here for my thoughts, musings, and hopes for the future. I hope in creating this blog to eventually clarify some things about which I am confused. Also, I hope to create less grammatically awkward sentences. Whatever this ends up to be, enjoy.
